Tourism in Bhutan has been strictly limited so that tradition and culture is preserved and nurtured. The tourism industry in Bhutan is founded on the principle of sustainability, meaning that tourism must be environmentally and ecologically friendly, socially and culturally acceptable, and also economically viable. For these reasons, tourism is carefully monitored by its pricing and the number of tourists visiting Bhutan is kept to an environmentally manageable level.
All tourists are required to make their travel arrangements for both tours & trekking through an local tour operator on a pre-planned, pre-paid basis. The tour operator is responsible for visa clearance, flight confirmation and for all land arrangements during your stay in Bhutan including permits and special permits.
Visas Clearance is required for travelling to Bhutan, and applications are processed online in conjunction with tour booking dates and flights. No foreign missions/embassies abroad grant Bhutan tourist visas. Please email us your valid colored passport copy at least 4 weeks prior to date of travel. We do not require any photos for visa applications or on entry into Bhutan. Passports should be valid for at least 6 months starting from date of entry.
Visa applications are cleared in advance, visa clearance issued and forwarded to overseas agents and clients. Actual visa is stamped on clients' passports on arrival at the port of entry for the exact number of days in Bhutan.
Note: For travellers entering Bhutan by Druk Air or by road, visa clearance is required for boarding; the actual visa is stamped on arrival. Tourists without a visa clearance document will not be permitted to board their flights.
Note: (The Government will process the visa only on depositing the full tour payment with them)
Hi Anil
MANY, MANY, MANY thanks for organising our tour itinerary while in Nepal. We had an ABSOLUTELY fantastic time in Chitwan, Pokhara and Dhampus. We shall never forget it, and so enjoyed the experience, the wonderful and friendly people, the culture, the food, the country, the mountain trekking, jungle walks, bird watching, wildlife, elephant rides, canoeing, village walks, photography, and other general "tourist stuff".
